Design Audits
To assist all those responsible for the procurement of new buildings and major refurbishment projects we offer design audits to assess whether the proposals put forward are capable of optimising operational performance over the building life cycle.
The audit covers the implications for the whole building life cycle, from the suitability of design concepts and proposed methods of construction through to the ability to meet service requirements in the long term. A range of building key performance indicators such as sustainability, cost and user productivity are measured in order to identify problem areas and opportunities for improving design.
Normally, the audit is undertaken in parallel with development of the design proposals so that the findings can be used to inform key design decision making. The feedback of findings is ongoing throughout the design process via attendance at design meetings and electronic formats such as project extranets.
Once the audit has been completed a client report is issued containing the findings and the predicted level of operational performance likely to be achieved, which is benchmarked against industry best practice norms.
